St Erme

St Erme is situated in the Deanery and Hundred of Powder. It is bordered by Newlyn East to the north, Ladock and Probus to the east, St Clement to the south and St Allen to the west. A detached portion of the parish, comprising the manor of Polsue, is bordered by St Clement's Creek and the parishes of Probus and St Clement. This parish is 4 miles north of Truro and sandwiched between the parishes of St Allen and Ladock. The main village is St Erme with Trispen which is actually composed of two neighbouring villages, St Erme and Trispen. At one time, St Erme had the church, school and village hall while Trispen had the pub, post office and chapel. The main villages and hamlets in the parish are the churchtowns, Trispen (or Trevispen) and Stairfoot.
