The main reason for joining a family history society is usually to make contact with other people - people who share your enthusiasm and are happy to pass on their experience.
If you are able to get to Truro to make full use of the Society's resources, you will find help both from the volunteer helpers and from other researchers working alongside.
If you live outside Cornwall, you will find the Journal a useful source of information and plenty of help is available through email. There is an annual subscription. If members joined or re-joined prior to 31 March 2010, their membership year end will end December 2010 and they will receive four Journals starting in March. Those new members who join on or after 1 April 2010 will still receive four Journals and their membership will expire one year after joining. These members will receive their first Journal in the quarter they joined. The Journal is published in March, June, September and December.
The membership form has space for you to nominate up to eight surnames and locations that you are researching. This information will be circulated to all Members to enable contact between researchers. You may update your "members' interests" whenever you wish. A complete directory will be updated and posted to the Members’ Area of the web site. A printed Directory of Members’ Interests will be provided on request.
There are three types of application form for membership to the Cornwall Family History Society; the benefits are the same.
